Considering how good Tamar Braxton's Winter Loversland album is, it is ridiculous and almost unforgiveable that my first knowledge of the singer came from Roxxxy Andrews impersonating her in the 5th season of the always flawless RuPaul's Drag Race. How Love & War passed me by is beyond me. However, I'm here now and hopefully not to late to this festive party because Winter Loversland (love that title) is a heavenly treat that is sinfully good from start to finish. Tamar has managed to put together a collection of tunes that reflect her personality & the spirit of the season in a seemingly effortless convergence of musical magic. The title of the album sets the mood perfectly - that the cool, crisp possibilities of newly fallen snow represents what opportunities we have to love, to give & to be loved in return. It's a delightful balance of old school timeless elegance & modern day music trends - and one thing is for sure: Tamar's alluring vocals are the star that burns bright at the heart of every track. And at ten tracks long, it's just the right length to leave you satisfied yet with an irrepressible urge to start the experience all over again.
