Most albums today are victims of "The Loudness War". What is "The Loudness War"? Find out here. To sum up: Is Vinyl always better than CD? Not really. In the 80's and early 90's, there were plenty of good CDs. But now, not so much. Now most CDs are louder, therefore, have extremely bad dynamic range, while the vinyl of that album tends to have slightly better dynamic range. Does the album have more Dynamic Range scores sounds better? YES, in most cases. However, if the engineers are smart enough to know where to apply the loudness compression, then the final CD still sounds good even if it has low DR scores. So it depends on the engineers, the music genre, the kinds of instruments used (ex: drums, guitars,...). The remastered albums of artists such as Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston,... have changed for the worse. The same case with most remastered albums today. In conclusion, finding good CDs isn't easy. You have to have passion to find the ideal CD. Some people like good DR. Some people like loudness. And most can't know the differences at all!
