To reducing space the frames are encoded again with X264 codec. To watch these version in 3D you need a software player like "stereoscopic player" or "nvidia player" and 3D capable equipment (3D graphic card, nvidia 3D Vision Kit, 3D Monitor, etc). But you can also watch it with cheap anaglyph glasses, when you choose "anaglyph" output in stereoscopic player. The left/right version is intended for people who don't want to waste so much space for the complete blu-ray iso, but want to have a high quality near to the original blu-ray quality.
