Brothers in Arms is the fifth studio album by the British rock band Dire Straits, released in 1985. The first half of the album is a development of their unique brand of rock which had evolved in their music since the 1980 album Making Movies, while the second half consists of more folk-influenced material. The whole album maintains the original Dire Straits' bluesy and laid back guitar-based style whilst utilising a more lavish production and overall sound.

Brothers in Arms charted #1 worldwide, spent ten weeks at number one on the UK Album Chart (between 18 January and 22 March), nine weeks at number one on the Billboard 200 in the U.S. and thirty-four weeks at number one on the Australian Album Chart. It is the fifth best-selling album in UK chart history, is certified nine times platinum in the United States, and is one of the world's best selling albums having sold 30 million copies worldwide.

Metro Station is a powerpop band that formed in Los Angeles, California in 2006. In 2007 Trace Cyrus and Mason Musso were introduced by their mothers on the set of Hannah Montana, in which Masons brother Mitchel and Traces sister Miley star in together. Sharing musical interests, they decided to form a band. Shortly thereafter, Cyrus recruited Blake Healy from Synthetic Joy as a keyboardist, synthesist and bassist. Their song Seventeen Forever, which they released on their MySpace Music website gained the attention of percussionist Anthony Improgo, who was soon added as the bands drummer. Their popularity on MySpace Music grew, topping the MySpace Music Unsigned Bands charts. An intern in Columbia Records Walking Eye program discovered the band while looking through the MySpace Music charts, and they were signed shortly thereafter.

Think!, organist Lonnie Smith's 1968 sophomore effort for Blue Note, is easily one of the strongest dates the Hammond B-3 master would produce for the label. Featuring a stellar group of musicians including trumpeter Lee Morgan, tenor saxophonist David Newman, guitarist Melvin Sparks, and drummer Marion Booker, Jr., as well as a three-member Afro-Latin percussion unit led by Henry "Pucho" Brown, Think! is a perfect mix of funky soul and forward-thinking jazz. Kicking things off with Hugh Masekela's instantly memorable "Son of Ice Bag," both Sparks and Newman take searching funk-flow solos while Morgan seems to be remembering a certain Masekela lick he dug.

Heavyweight 180gm vinyl LP pressing of Coleman Hawkins Encounters Ben Webster. Both saxophonists were under contract with Norman Granz, and on October 15, 1957, Webster went into the studio with Oscar Peterson, Herb Ellis, Ray Brown and Stan Levey to record his album Soulville. The following day, October 16, Coleman Hawkins did the same with a similar rhythm section (Alvin Stoller replaced Levey on drums) and taped his album The Genius of Coleman Hawkins. And then, later that night, Ben and Bean were reunited with Peterson, Brown, Ellis and Stoller to produce their first collaborative work since 1944. The relaxed, after-hours session, thus recorded, is full of spectacular playing by the true masters of their instruments.

This vinyl reissue includes two bonus tracks, "Cocktails For Two" and "La Rosita" which did not appoear on the original album. The sound quality of this 180-gram vinyl is very good. No wonder this jazz classics reissue series is receiving high praise from audiophiles in Europe!

Recorded in Los Angeles, October 16, 1957. Stereo. This limited-edition, 180-gram vinyl reissue was released by Jazz Track (Disconforme) in 2009.
