Chuyện phim kể về một tộc nữ chiến binh bí ẩn được cai trị bởi nữ hoàng Hippolyta. Nhiều năm về trước nữ hoàng Hippolyta đã từng chiến đấu với thần chiến tranh Ares tại Tartarus và cô đã giành phần thắng. Tuy nhiên trước khi Hippolyta định giết chết Ares thì thần Zeus đã xuất hiện và ngăn cản cô. Và để đền bù cho Hippolyta, Zeus đã ban cho có một hòn đảo nhỏ có tên là Themyscira nơi cô có thể giam giữ Ares và tách biệt với thế giới con người. Ngoài ra Zeus còn ban cho cô một người con gái và đặt tên là Diana.

Nhiều năm trôi qua cô bé Diana ngày nào đã trưởng thành và trở thành một trong những chiến binh hùng mạnh nhất trên đảo. Tuy nhiên một rắc rối không ngờ đã xảy ra khi đại uý Steve Trevor vô tình lọt vào hòn đảo và gặp gỡ Diana. Cùng lúc đó thần chiến tranh Ares đã trốn thoát khỏi hòn đảo và gieo rắc tai họa khắp mọi nơi

Từ đây Diana được nữ hoàng Hippolyta giao nhiệm vụ phải đưa Steve trở lại thế giới bên ngoài đồng thời ngăn cản âm mưu phá hoại thế giới của thần chiến tranh Ares. Cũng chính vào lúc này Diana phát hiện ra cô đã phải lòng Steve.

Ra’s al Ghul thuê Joker để giúp anh ta thực hiện âm mưu khủng bố mới nhất của mình. Nhưng nhanh chóng hối hận khi Hoàng tử tội phạm hề bắt cóc Robin. Trong một nhà kho ở Sarajevo, Bosnia, Joker đánh Robin bằng xà beng. Cuối cùng khiến anh ta sống dở chết dở trên sàn nhà kho, để lại một quả bom để kết liễu anh ta. Batman đến quá muộn và Jason bị giết trong vụ nổ.

Năm năm sau tại thành phố Gotham, tên trùm tội phạm / cảnh giác Red Hood đã tập hợp một cuộc gặp gỡ với những tên côn đồ và buôn ma túy kiếm tiền hàng đầu của thành phố. Red Hood tuyên bố tiếp quản hoạt động buôn bán ma túy. Yêu cầu 40% thu nhập của họ để đổi lấy sự bảo vệ khỏi Batman và Black Mask.

Tại bến tàu, Batman đang truy đuổi một số tên côn đồ trên một chiếc xe tải. Khi anh ta cố gắng thẩm vấn họ, hàng hóa họ đang chở mở ra và tiết lộ Amazo, một người máy mạnh mẽ với khả năng sao chép khả năng của mọi siêu nhân mà nó gặp phải. Nightwing đến hiện trường để giúp hạ gục Amazo. Sau khi đánh bại người máy, Batman biết được rằng những tên côn đồ đang làm việc cho Red Hood, người đã kịp thời tiêu diệt bọn côn đồ bằng một khẩu súng bắn tỉa. Batman đuổi theo Red Hood đến Ace Chemical Plant; nơi diễn ra quá trình biến đổi của Red Hood đầu tiên thành Joker. Red Hood hiện tại gây ra một vụ nổ trong nhà máy và trốn thoát.
